About the App
Description
Every photo answers "where and when?" before anyone asks. PicProof stamps the date, time, street address and GPS coordinates onto your photos and videos at the moment you take them. What you see in the viewfinder is exactly what gets saved: no editing afterwards, no guessing where a picture was taken, no "can you send me the location?" messages.
Proof of where and when, in one tap
A site visit, a delivery, a move-out inspection, a damaged parcel, a finished repair. In each case someone will later ask when the photo was taken and where. With PicProof the answer is already on the picture: date and time with seconds and time zone, the full address, latitude and longitude, altitude, compass direction and GPS accuracy. Add a project name, a note or your own line of text, such as a crew name, a job number or a client.
Video works the same way. The stamp is burned into the recording and the clock keeps running while you film, so a clip shows the time of every second, not just the start.
Six stamp styles that look like they belong
Most timestamp apps print a yellow line of text in the corner. PicProof gives you six designed styles:
- Classic: a clean card with time, date, address and coordinates.
- Minimal: one discreet line for photos you want to keep beautiful.
- Film Date: the orange digits of a 90s film camera, for travel and everyday photos.
- Map Card: a mini map of the exact spot next to the details.
- Report: labeled fields for inspections, audits and field documentation.
- Compass: a direction dial for surveys, hiking and outdoor work.
Coordinates in the format your work uses
Decimal degrees, degrees minutes seconds (DMS) and degrees decimal minutes (DDM) for everyday use. UTM, MGRS and Plus Code for surveyors, search and rescue teams, foresters, utility crews and couriers. Metric or imperial units, 12-hour or 24-hour clock. Optional weather on the stamp.
A real camera, not a filter
Your phone's lenses and zoom, tap to focus, flash and torch, a 3 or 10 second timer, a grid, a level and 4:3, 16:9 or 1:1 framing. Press a volume button to take the shot, so you can work with gloves on. Indoors, where GPS is weak, set the exact point on the map and the stamp uses it. Retake a photo from the same spot with the old one as a guide and get a before-and-after pair.
Proof that a photo was not changed
Every photo PicProof takes carries a seal signed on the phone that took it. Choose any photo in the app to see whether it still matches its seal, when and where it was taken, and whether the location came from GPS. The seal works the same on iPhone and Android, so a photo taken on one can be checked on the other.
From a pile of photos to a report
Your photos are grouped by day and searchable by address, note, project or text found in the photo. Open the map to see every photo where it was taken. Group shots into projects: one per building site, client, property or trip. Then export:
- PDF report with photos and all capture details, ready to send to a client, an insurer or a manager, with an optional summary written on your phone.
- CSV for spreadsheets, KML for Google Earth and GPX for mapping and GIS tools.
Private by design
No account and no sign-up. Your photos are never uploaded to our servers. Photos and locations stay on your phone and in your own iCloud or Google backup. Copies saved to your gallery keep the GPS location and the date in the photo metadata, and PicProof keeps the original without the stamp, so you can still share a clean version. Widgets, a quick-launch button, a lock-screen camera and a watch remote open the camera in one tap.

Good to know
PicProof stamps what your phone reports: its clock, GPS and the map address. GPS accuracy depends on the signal. A stamp and a seal are not a notarized or certified record, and whether a photo is accepted as evidence is up to the person or authority receiving it.
