Taperly Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 1, 2026
Last updated: October 1, 2026
Taperly ("the app") is developed by FlashSoft ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the app processes and why. Contact: support@flashsoftapps.com.
1. Your nicotine logs stay with you
Everything you enter — products, doses, cravings, triggers, notes, plans and reasons — is stored on your device and, if you are signed in to iCloud, in your private iCloud database. We have no access to this data, never upload it to our servers and never sell or share it. You can export it (CSV) or delete it at any time; deleting the app removes local data, and you can remove the iCloud copy in Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage.
2. Data collected by third-party services
To keep the app working, free and improving, we use these services. They receive technical and usage data, never your nicotine logs, notes or reasons.
| Service | Purpose | Data |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config | Usage statistics, crash reports, remote settings | App events (e.g. "entry logged", "paywall viewed"), device model, OS version, app version, approximate location from IP, crash logs, a random user ID |
| Amplitude | Product analytics | App events, device and app information, a random user ID |
| Apphud | Subscription management | Purchase history, a random user ID, device identifiers (IDFV; IDFA only with your permission) |
| Google AdMob + User Messaging Platform | Showing ads to free users, consent management | Advertising identifier (only with your permission), device information, ad interactions, approximate location from IP |
| Apple (App Store, StoreKit, iCloud) | Purchases, sync | As described in Apple's privacy policy |
Ads are never shown to Pro subscribers.
3. Tracking and your choices
- On first launch you can choose how ads and data are used (Google consent form in the EU/UK, and Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt). You can change this later in the app (Settings → Privacy Settings) and in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Notifications are optional and can be turned off in iOS Settings.
4. Feedback
If you contact us through the in-app form, we receive your message, the email you enter (optional), app version, device model and language — only to answer you. Please don't send health details you want to keep private.
5. Health information
Taperly is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. Information about recovery is general guidance from public sources (NHS, CDC).
6. Children
Taperly is intended for adults (17+) and is not directed to children.
7. Legal basis and rights (GDPR/UK GDPR)
We process data based on your consent (ads/tracking) and our legitimate interest (crash reports, analytics). You may request access, correction or deletion of data held by us or our processors by writing to support@flashsoftapps.com.
8. Changes
We may update this policy; the date above shows the latest version.
